CHRISTMAS TIME AT BOROUGH MARKET
Merry Christmas Eve everyone, and I guess I should say Merry Christmas to those in the southern hemisphere too, as Santa has already been and gone for you guys. I’m sat on a sofa, in the most beautiful country house in France, with a roaring fire in front of me, friends in the kitchen making a delicious fennel dip, three dogs snoring away on the floor, and all feels right with the world.
I’ve still got a few festive things to do on my list when I return to London in a few days, but I feel pretty satisfied with all the Christmas outings I managed to fit in already. We popped over to Borough Market last weekend and it was full of festive food. From brussel sprouts to mulled wine, we wandered the market, buying cheese, gluten free mince pies and the most delicious Thai coconut pancakes.
It was heaving with people as usual, but it was sooo beautiful, with decorations up everywhere and carol singers too. We fuelled up with our usual Borough Market go-to, duck confit and salad and once we’d made our other purchases we strolled along the Southbank to the Christmas Market outside the Tate Modern, where we bought some mulled wine and nibble on the mince pies from market, before heading off to meet up with friends for more mulled wine and festive beverages!
I love Borough Market anytime of the year, but this was the perfect way to spend a Saturday in the silly season. I hope you’ve been indulging in all that is festive and fun over December! x
