I would be very surprised to meet an adult who didn’t dream of finding a Golden Ticket inside a Wonka Bar when they watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a child.

I loved that movie, and particularly when Charlie Bucket so carefully prised open the wrapper on his Wonka Bar and found a shiny Golden Ticket staring back at him.  Little did he know that he was about to embark on an LSD fuelled tour through a chocolate factory, but that’s not the point.  We all envied that golden ticket.

When The Boy Next Door’s birthday was approaching, I spent time scheming and deciding and finally coming up with a plan for the day.  I decide to give the birthday a bit of a Willy Wonka theme, I made Golden Eggs, I had pink macaroons, and a million balloons and performing baboons, just like Veruca Salt sings about in I Want It All!

So of course, I had to incorporate a Golden Ticket into the day.  And that’s exactly what I did.  Printing the ticket with details of the birthday dinner.

Make sure you choose a bar that’s wrapped in foil, then remove the outer wrapper from your chocolate bar.  Cut out your Golden Ticket and place it on top of the foil.

Wrap the Wonka Bar wrapper around the foil and glue the edges together.

  1. Hi I wondered if you have any tips for printing the ticket as I’m having a bit of trouble getting it to come out looking any good, thanks.

    • Hi Jasmine, ooo now you’re testing my memory! I think I used a light piece of paper, that had a sheen to it, one that can easily go through a printer. If you’re unsure I’d recommend going to an art supply store and they should be able to help. Alternatively you could go to a printing store and they’d be able to print it out for you. Best of luck!
