Soft Serve Society
So it’s not exactly ‘ice cream eating weather’, in London, in fact it’s soooo cold outside today! Sunny, but cold. Regardless, I need to tell you about Soft Serve Society, where your ice cream sundae dreams come true.
Like most new London food spots these days, I’d spotted a delicious looking photo of a Soft Serve Society sundae on Instagram, and decided right then and there that my life would not be complete until a visit was made to their East London store.
Sunday is my ‘anything goes’ day. Give me all the pizza. All the burgers. And all the ice cream. We arrived at Soft Serve Society to a line that snaked out the door. Word had clearly got around. The menu offers soft serve, sundaes and freakshakes. The Boy Next Door and I were sharing, so it’s lucky we have a similar taste in what we like, and quickly settled on vanilla soft serve, topped with popcorn, dark chocolate sauce and a big ol’ toasted marshmallow.
Hightailing it over the road, (there were no seats left in the store, due to its popularity), we stood in the sunshine and took turns shovelling ‘spoonfuls of sugar’ into our greedy mouths. The marshmallow was delicious, though not recommended if you’re on a first date and trying to impress. You’ll have marshmallow spread across your face for sure.
We walked off dessert by taking a look at all the amazing street art on the side streets off Brick Lane, (and snapping some pics of my new love – the gold Zara jacket) before heading home and ordering pizza, hah!
A fun place to visit for all ages, Soft Serve Society is open seven days a week and located in Box Park, Shoreditch. Go, go go.
