Farm Girl Cafe

Cafe

Ladies and Gentleman, I’ve got a little location that you need to know about.  It’s called Farm Girl Cafe.  Based in Notting Hill, this is one to add to your weekend brunch list.

I’d read a blogpost on Farm Girl Cafe recently, and I knew immediately that I had to plan a visit.  I saw the words ‘gluten free’, and then I saw all those healthy ingredients that I love and others don’t know how to pronounce.  I sent a few texts out to friends, I got a date in the diary, and on a slightly overcast Saturday morning, my girlfriends and I joined the queue that was snaking waaaaay out the door at Farm Girl Cafe.

Pastries

Our table was eventually ready, and we walked past all the delicious baked goods on the counter and sat down.

There was some indecisiveness over our coffee order.  I mean, I’d usually just go for an almond milk latte, but when I saw the option of a Rose Latte, I hesitated, and then thought, why the hell not!

And my almond milk Rose Latte was a-maz-ing!  You’d need to be a fan of that unique taste rose water has, so if you like Turkish Delight, you’ll love this.  It was subtle, yet delicious.  Who knew!

Girls who brunch

Jenny ordered the awesome sounding Velvet Cacao smoothie, consisting of banana, cacao nibs, cinnamon, rose petals, coconut milk & coconut oil.  That’s on my list for my next visit for sure!

And call us copycat’s if you like, but all three of us ordered the Buckwheat Pancakes for brunch.  Because, well, from my point of view, hello GLUTEN FREE PANCAKES!!!

And damn were those pancakes good! Fluffy, spongey, and covered in berries, syrup and coconut shavings.  I’d devoured the lot before Jo and Jenny had even made it to the halfway mark with theirs.  So I’m greedy maybe, but I just don’t mess around when food tastes delicious!

I’m going back, not only for the Velvet Cacao Smoothie but also for Farm Boy’s Chicken Schnitzel, because it sounds effing delicious, and yes, you guessed it, it’s also GLUTEN FREE!

Farm Girl Cafe is located at 59a Portobello Rd London W11 3DB, and open Tuesday – Sunday.

  1. That rose latte looks incredible! I haven’t been to Notting Hill for AGES. We used to live nearby in Maida Vale, but now that I’ve moved East, I refuse to budge on the weekends (plus, we’re always doing home-related stuff) so this recommendation will get me up and moving!

    • I’ve avoided Notting Hill for ages, because it reminds me of work!! But Jaime you need to go to Farm Girl Cafe, it’s delicious! I can’t wait to go back!! GO GO GO!!!
