Detour | Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is the one Christmas event I would throw an enormous tantrum over if I didn’t get to visit!

The past three WW’s I’ve visited with TBND.  The first time we visited was on our first ‘official’ date, and each year we head back to Hyde Park, to part with enormous amounts of cash – let’s not sugar coat the financial part! – and enjoy the Christmas spirit of everything from the markets, to the mulled wine.

We arrived one chilly Monday evening, to a decent yet not overwhelmingly sized crowd, which is always a bonus for WW!

Starting with the most important part of the evening, food was bought and we were then ready for to roll for the rest of the evening.

I am a sucker for a helium balloon, and felt a twinge of need as we passed this huge cluster of inflatable cartoon characters.

Passing the Mulled Wine cabin, we stopped and made a purchase to warm us from the inside out.

I came across six new friends, the husky’s, and jumped in for a pic with them all.

At Winter Wonderland, you will even find talking trees!  Oh the magic of Christmas!

We strolled around, looking at the rides, the bars and the games.

Loved up couples strolled by clutching giant stuffed toys, and sharing crepes.

And then I spotted the balloons again.  And it was Mickey that caught my eye.  The boy bought me one.  And my night was truly complete!

That is the smile of a girl that is so happy with her Mickey balloon.

Balloon in hand, and one last stroll past the markets, Winter Wonderland was done and dusted for another year.  Oh Christmas I love you!
