Arrivederci Venezia!

Vacations always seem to end too quickly, and our long weekend in Venice, Italy was no exception.  Time flies when you’re having fun right?  We awoke to a slightly cloudier day, but still warm and enjoyable nonetheless.  We packed our bags, checked out of our hotel and strolled over to the Rialto Market, which is full to the brim of the most Instagrammable, mouthwatering fruit and veg.

We had a few hours before we needed to head to the airport, so we decide to get a birds eye view of Venice, at the top of the Campanile, located in San Marco Piazza.  The view from the top is stunning and worth the 30 minutes we lined up to get in.

Back in the piazza, the clock was ticking and my sweet tooth was desperate for some cioccolata calda.  We sat down at Caffe Lavena for what is essentially an overpriced cup of thick hot chocolate, but it tastes so good I was willing to hand over 11 euros.

Following a lunch of gluten free pasta, and one last wander through the tiny streets, we grabbed some Aperol Spritz because hey we were in Italy and why not toast our weekend with a mini bottle of their famous cocktail drink, collected our bags and board our boat to the airport.

Once again Venice, you’ve captured a piece of my heart and kept it.  Until we meet again, Arrivederci x
